I think I've solved the mystery!

Perhaps this has something to do with the item that allows you to steal another users points? If it takes more than you have, you get negative points! I've seen at least one more member with a negative point count now.

This could also explain that they can still be used. Obviously, it's not supposed to have a negative point count. If it does, the program would ignore the negative (Since it doesn't understand its function) and try to cope, and basically even though the number is negative the points still function as positive!

Of course, I'm no programming expert so I may be waaaaaay off course. Professional opinion, anybody?
