Lots of Boos are cute, but some just creep me out in the WTH sense and ooooookay... sense.

are boos truly dead?
they don't seem to be the ghosts of deceased charecters, as they are depicted as different looking ghosts
and what was with the ghosts in Luigi's mansion? The boos weren't good enough for that game?

Maybe when a character in the Mario world dies, he becomes some random type of Boo?....Iunno
There were Boos in Luigi's Mansion, but they were a pain to catch, always ducking into other rooms. I enjoyed catching all the different types of ghosts in that game.
They need to make a Luigi's Mansion sequel for the Wii.

They are lost souls,aren't they? So they could be some Death Enemies,killed by Mario.
Or some Souls,who escaped the Underwhere.

the games treat them as if they are thier own species
its trats them like they are living creatures
ghosts who are born ghosts, if you will
that's how I see them at least
