I did read the book, and from what I see in the commercials the movie is totally different. Nothing at all the same.
I mean, I'd think they'd at least show Grendel, or Grendel's mom, or that dragon thing. A Beowulf movie could've totally rocked.

Its the same thing as 300
they take somthing that would make a great movie by itself
and they butcher it

Can't get much clearer then that. It's what happens when you get the first movie about a "legendary hero".
Hercules, Van Helsing, Beowulf - they all have numerous adventures under their belt, but usually writers would start with the adventure that turned them into a hero, not the last thing they did as a hero.

Oh, yes I almost forgot to voice my opinion on this.
I just thought the ending needed more clearing up, though. He had a baby with Grendel and he supposedly killed it. The main character is butt naked most of the time in the castle, as he awaited for the monster to arrive. I forgot his name. Grendel is naked too, and she's hot.
I have more to say, but I'm too lazy to post more on this.

Mordor and Grendel/Grendall - I'm sure those names are © Lord of the Rings?

Well, Aragorn is the heir to the kingships of
Gondor. The there's
Gandalf, the old dude. I think you're confusing the names a bit.

In teh books - there is a map, I'm sure of it. Plus isn't "Mordor" in LOTR? That's the name of Angelina Jolie's Char in Beowulf.

Beowulf was ok, but it was too slow paced, I think. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I only remember four fights, two of which were quite short, and Grendel's first attack for the action. It was like Spider Man 3- it lacked fighting/action and piled on storyline events.
I never read the book, but based on what you guys said, it must be better.

To me, the movie won the Gold Medal of crap.
